Championships 19/02/06
Well done to Greg 'Hit Man' Hendrie who won Bronze in his category
and again qualified for the WKA World Championships in Spain later
in the year
WAKO British Champions 19/02/06
And on the same day team mate Martin 'Lazer Legs' Logue won Silver
and qualified for the WAKO World Championships for 2006 (winning
against his nemasis World Silver medalist Craig Butterfield 8-6).
FSKA Grand Championships 29/01/06
Well Done to Adam Beniston on winning the First Place in the
Senior Mens Korean Patterns at the FSK's in Manchester, also well
done to Jay Hallsworth who won the Boys Coloured Belts Under 12
years Japanese Kata.
WUMA British
Championships 11/12/05
Martin Logue came back from the WUMA British with a British title
in the Mens U/60kg Points Fighting also taking a Bronze in the
U/65kg categorie, Adam beniston Took a British title in the Korean
Patterns, along with a Silver in the Japanese Kata, another Silver
in the Mens U/70kg Points Fighting and he shared a Bronze with
Martin in the U/65kg Categorie. A Brilliant end to the year for

Phil Beniston added another 1st Place in Bench Pressing at the BPO
British Bench Press and Deadlift Record Breakers Championships at
Swansea on the same day, breaking his own British record twice to
finish on a Bench Press of 195kg (at a bodyweight of 88kg), and
narrowly missing out on the David Berg memorial shield by a couple
of Kg, a great end to the year for 'Lazer Legs', 'Pocket Rocket'
and 'The Powerhouse' (and of course 'The Hitman')

Bench Press Championships, Germany 11-13/11/05
Master Beniston returned from Germany with a World title and a new
World record,

WKA Worlds in
Canada
Greg Hendrie got through the first round, but lost to the eventual
winner in the second round. Never the less we are all very proud
of him and look forward to him winning his first World title soon.

Quest For The
Best at Bolton Arena 6/11/05
Adam Beniston won a 3 foot trophy coming 1st in the Kata, and
should have come 2nd in the U/70kg Points, but fought the eventual
winner in his first fight, (David Noodles Hughes of Team Top Ten)
losing to him 8-3, but got closer than anyone else, (the 2nd and
3rd place winners losing 10-0 and 9-2 respectively), It is
unfortunate that the elimination system works the way it does and
it has cost many of our teams fighters a place in the medals, when
they deserved some recognition.
WAKO Junior
European Championships 22/10/05
Greg Hendrie Has won the Junior European Kickboxing Title!! Martin
Logue won Bronze in his class, Liam Johnson and Zak Watson fought
well but missed out on the medals 'this time'

BPO
Championships 25/09/05
Chief Instructor Phil Beniston, recently competed in the BPO UK
Powerlifting and UK Bench Press Championships at Bath
University in Somerset. Were he won the Powerlifting (90kg class),
and the Bench Press (90kg class), and the trophy for Best Bench
Press of the Championships, with a Bench Press of 190kg (10kg over
the current World Record), setting 2 new BPO British records,
coming 3rd in the best overall Powerlifter in the Championships,
in his 2nd Powerlifting competition in 8 years.
South
Yorkshire Championships 28/08/05
Well Done to Greg Hendrie who won the South Yorkshire
Championships in the Mens open weight points fighting, with Martin
Logue winning Bronze, Adam Beniston just missing out on the
medals, but winning Gold in the Kata section

Interviewed at Cobra training session on 18/08/05
Adam was interviewed on BBC Radio Nottingham, today it will be
broadcast tommorow on the Breakfast show, others featured include
Phil, Master Keeling and Kelly Bossons, make sure you set your
alarm clocks.

Phil has just been interviewed for BBC Radio Nottingham about his
recent success at the European
Bench Press Championships, the interview will go out on the
next days Breakfast show (Tuesday 19th) on 95.5fm &

CMAA OPEN MAT COURSE 17/07/05
The CMAA Open Training course was great as always, Master Beniston
and Sensei Charmaine Milligan were the only ones who attended from
the ABMAA unfortunatly as the rest of you missed a great
day, hopefully more of us will make it next year

Well done to Sensei
Adam Beniston who has
just added to his (ever growing) list of Black Belts by passing
his 1st Dan in Shotokan Karate at the CMAA gradings in Manchester,
recieving the highest mark out of the 11 candidates in the
process.
Master Taz
Towers (our ABMAA
Chairman) was presented his Masters degree at the same gradings by
CMAA President Soke Andrew Morrell 7th Dan, well done Master
Towers and thank you Soke Morrell.
Keep posted for the results of our own Black Belt gradings being
held on 10th April.
At the recent WAKO English Championships Greg Hendrie came 3rd in
his category and has been invited onto the WAKO British Squad,
well Done Greg!
